This room should come
with a warning: ATTENTION: Do not build a room like this until all the
productive things in your life have already been accomplished. This 2000
square foot finished basement includes a 9 seat movie theater, lobby,
foyer and powder room, play area, bedroom and bath, wine cellar and
office (which I bet they’ve never seen it.). The theater is in the Art
Deco style and mimics the movie theaters of the 30’s and 40’s. You
should note that no columns are visible in the finished project and a
ceiling height of 8’ was maintained throughout the bulk of the project.
Finishing basements without any natural light requires great lighting
plans. None of the photographs in this entry required any additional
light. In this space, no one ever gets the feeling they’re in a
basement…and that’s the key to a successful basement remodel.
