The primary goal of this
project was to increase the perceived size of the kitchen without adding
square footage. Two design remedies were used.
First, the original peninsula, with a round column, visually cut the
room. Taking this out and allowing the run of cabinets to hug the wall
and end with no separation from the table provided a much larger feel.
Secondly, they opened the wall into the den with a bar with beautifully
detailed trim carpentry.
