The Southside Park Residence is an
addition and remodel to a small historic house in the “minimalist”
tradition located in a park district of Bozeman MT. The project involved
very challenging design constraints originating from an encumbered
corner lot. A new accessory dwelling unit over a new garage was the
first program piece of the puzzle; the solution being to create a bridge
from the original house to the new garage, which held a light filled
master bedroom and bath, and seamlessly flowed into a fully remodeled
kitchen. A large deck became the outside gathering space for the
“bridge”.
