This home was built in
the mid 1800’s. The retired owner wanted to move all the amenities and
service areas to the first floor so he could enjoy his home even if
there was a decline in his health. This included the addition of a
downstairs bedroom, an office area and a new solarium. They were able to
map out a revised footprint that was very sympathetic to the Quaker
Design. Over the sunroom area they used standing seam metal, which
matches many additions seen in the area. The mix of all the different
materials including siding, stone, bluestone, cedar shake and green
standing seam metal helped integrate this remodel into the original
style and character of the original home
