This is a two story
addition that was added to a 1928 era Georgian revival home. it was
important to maintain the style of the existing home, while adding new
space and upgrading existing space to make this a much more enjoyable
home for the owners.
The scope included creating a family room off the kitchen with a more
formal “library” feel, as well as enlarging the kitchen. In both cases,
the finishes maintained the original 1920’s character of the home.
A new master bedroom was also added. it was important that the bedroom
not appear oversized for the existing room proportions in the home, so a
barrel vaulted ceiling was used to add dimension without excess size.
