The
spectacular layout of the core area was accomplished by capturing just a
minimal 80 sq. ft. of porch space. This space now has both intimate
gathering spaces and, when combined, a huge party space. The kitchen has
four solid chef areas, while the peninsula keeps folks from getting in
each other’s way. A comfy seating area and informal dining table
complete the main area. The powder room was also moved, providing
discrete access both from the formal area of the home and the core
family area. A beautiful intimate sitting area was created around the
fireplace by partitioning the very long slender front living room with a
cased opening almost as wide as the room. The master suite was created
by installing a new door in the hallway and moving all closet access
from the bedroom to the hallway. A full size stacking washer and dryer
duo was installed in the closet.
