The project goal was to
gut and remodel the second floor of a 200-year-old-historic-designated,
office building in Washington, DC, with active retail below and
operational office space on two floors above. This international booking
agency for musicians and DJ’s needed their office spaced to be a place
of community, intelligence and enthusiasm. They needed us to transform
the look from early 1900’s warehouse, with strange 1980’s remodel
touches, to a look that communicates the company’s image and culture
with an edgy, animated design that has European influence and a slick
vibe. The aesthetically enhanced space is affecting employee
productivity. The employees no longer spend time in a rundown, dingy
space. Instead, they see themselves as moving forward and current
because they work in a thriving innovative space.
