Basement Remodel
The family in this 1940 Portland home was
growing cramped in their living space. It was time for ReCraft and
Integrate Architecture to confront the collect-all basement and unearth
its true potential!
This creative family chose a vibrant theme based on Wes Anderson’s Life
Aquatic.
Spaces were reestablished, allowing for an expanded bathroom, family
room, exercise area, and a colorful laundry room with cabinet storage,
counter space, and sewing nook.
A basement that before would have had Steve Zissou saying, “Swamp
Leeches! Everybody check for Swamp Leeches!” is now an inviting,
purposeful space and the new after-school hang-out spot!
