2009 Best Kitchen Remodel $50,000 - $75,000K

This couple wanted to upgrade their 1950s era kitchen with a more modern aesthetic and a more useable layout. They needed prep/work spaces to accommodate two cooks and additional storage solutions. A new central island with bar seating and abundant storage is the focal point of the kitchen, accented by four new pendant lights. Granite topped counters contrast with the painted wood cabinetry and mosaic glass tile backsplashes. The overhead light cove unifies the kitchen and adjacent dining area as a single space. Large, energy efficient windows bring in natural light and open the kitchen to the outdoors.
