The original structure
included a restaurant on the first floor of a five-story building that
had been turned into a factory. Now it was time to turn it back into a
restaurant. The renovation included expanding the new restaurant into
the factory area by removing a wall, and remodeling the entire interior.
Challenges included changes to the restrooms for handicapped
accessibility and installing a separate HVAC system four floors above on
the roof using cranes. The tile floors were replaced with wood to
provide this steak house with a dignified yet manly look. The columns in
the restaurant were expanded to hide the HVAC units. The overall results
were very happy restaurant owners who opened to rave reviews for their
food, their service, and thanks to Double D…their décor.
