The
Clients recently moved from New York and wanted to design their basement
to be a place to entertain friends as well as a place where they can
relax, craft and enjoy themselves and their hobbies. The clients wishes
were a bedroom, a room that can transition from a bedroom to a crafts
room, a large entertaining space, a bar area, wine storage and
additional storage. The Clients love architectural details so the intent
was to include unique elements throughout the space.
Based
on the needs of the Client, we were able to create a space that they
will be able to enjoy by themselves and with their guests. The Clients
were ecstatic that we took the design of the hidden bookcase door and
created a wine storage door that opens up to the unfinished storage
space. This was cone without taking away from the square footage of the
storage/utility room. This adds to the many unique design features
throughout the basement. Such features include the arch niche feature
wall at the base of the stairs, barrel arches, cut out above the
fireplace and carefully selected materials that highlight the space.
