Prior
to its renovation, this home did not have what is now considered a
master bath. This traditional style home was built long before the
concept took hold. Therefore, this was a centerpiece of the full home
renovation.
The custom vanity was fashioned into a sinusoidal wave shape,
contrasting with the traditional aspects of the home. The floors of the
bath feature a Hydronic heating system, which had to be carefully
considered when including the zero-clearance shower entrance. Due to
narrow space, one of the bathroom features had to be placed against the
windows. The vanity was chosen to occupy this space and custom shutters
were made on site that feature mirrors on the inside for privacy.
The space displays the clients’ taste for contemporary art while
maintaining the traditional architectural elements present throughout
the home.
