This 200 sq. ft. kitchen was transformed from a dark bland space to one more suitable to the classical style of the Georgian Home surrounding it. Zoning setback allowed only 8 inches of expansion outside the existing envelope. Despite the zoning setbacks, they gained a full 3 feet of interior expansion. One way this was done was to utilize a window seat cantilevered from the structure which, under creative Code interpretation, was considered to be an "architectural ornament" rather than an addition. The ceiling was vaulted using complex field-built scissor trusses.The Palladian focal point invites you to bask in the light of its window seat.
