The
space to build on our client's property was limited, a plan was
developed to build on top of the existing garage. Along with the
architect’s keen eye, a sunroom emerged. We continued the “beach
cottage” vibe of the main house, but brought in some rustic elements
with the ceiling beams, and opened it up the common area. It has a
traditional feel, while the brass finishes and shiplap throughout give
it a more updated look. We also mimicked the fireplace in the main house
for continuity. The open deck area has plenty of space for grilling and
taking in the sun.
