Strong winds, glaring
sunlight, and nearby sounds of construction made the small balcony of
this sixth-floor condo impractical for the owner’s use. They decided to
enclose the space and absorb into the condo’s main living area. Large
curved windows, which had to be lifted to the condo from the outside
using a Skytrak unit, and electronically controlled shades allow the
owner’s to better take advantage of their spectacular view. Built-in
window seats and cabinets run between the bottom edge of the windows and
floor. Wood flooring was installed to match with the existing floors of
the open concept living area.
