This could
be called a tiny whole house remodel, with an addition. The main
log structure was built in the mid-1800’s as a smokehouse, for
curing meat. It was moved once in the 1950’s, becoming an
office. We deconstructed and moved it again, keeping the roof
structure intact. We built a new foundation, chimney and porch,
and added a bathroom and mechanical equipment. Burying the
electric service helped to maintain the historic feel. Although
it feels bigger because of the open ceiling, the finished
building is a cozy 288 square feet, with all the amenities.
