2008 Best Home Theatre Under
$150,000
The goal was to create an
attractive theater with Art Deco design influences. The staircase
leading down to the lower level, where the theater is located, opens
into a foyer area. This was a perfect location for the ticket booth and
theater themed entrance doors. In order to accommodate the starfield
optics, an acoustical drop ceiling was installed in the front half of
the room, which provided six inches of clearance to allow space for the
fiber filaments. A decorative acoustical panel was fabricated to
camouflage the closet door where the audio and video components were
placed. The columns are covered with acoustically transparent fabric to
conceal the speakers and crafted Art Deco sconces adorn each of the
seven columns.
