The homeowner wanted
separate shower, tub and toilet areas in a small bathroom, done in an
arts-and-crafts style to blend with the rest of his “Sears Kit” house.
Borrowing closet spaces from each of the bedrooms beside the existing
bathroom allowed extra space for a shower, toilet and bath area. By
utilizing the existing plumbing locations, cost was minimized. Doors
were stripped and the casing and crown were replaced with replicated
trims. They used shellac and treated the wood with water to replicate
the 90-year-old woodwork look. An arts and crafts bathroom was reborn.
