The wall between the
kitchen and the dining area was blown out to create a breakfast bar,
more counter space and to maximize the openness and flow of the floor
plan. Opening up the wall made all the spaces feel larger in this 840
sq. ft. home. The kitchen was turned from a dark, small claustrophobic
room with a poor layout into a spacious entertainer’s kitchen without
adding a single square foot of floor space, and on a very limited budget
of under $20,000. Cabinets are from Ikea, the stainless steel vent hood
was purchased on eBay, and the vintage O’Keefe & Merritt range was
purchased off Craig’s List.
