Finding the original 
		floor plan too restrictive, the owner desired an open and comfortable 
		concept with views to the outside as well as an emphasis on capturing 
		natural light. The goal was to introduce a crafted design with layered 
		panoramic views into and through the interior spaces. The fundamental 
		component of the rectangle is expressed in many elements of the design. 
		To introduce more natural light into the kitchen, wall cabinets with 
		glass doors were placed in front of several new windows. After 
		relocating the laundry upstairs, the mudroom space was transformed into 
		a bright breakfast nook. This project proves that, with some 
		imagination, willingness to emphasize the natural beauty of exposed 
		wood, and allowing craftsmen to do their finest work, mass produced 
		residences can become a wonderful and unique place to call home.
