2016 Award -
Bathroom Remodel over $75,000

The objective was to take a poorly designed bathroom with disjointed spaces and transform it into one beautiful and spatially functional owner’s suite bathroom. Even a bathroom in a virtually new house can suffer from poor design. This owner’s suite makeover fixed a lot, improved a lot, and brought a lot more functionality and beauty to this home. The client desired a more visually attractive and open space that could be more functional and aesthetically beautiful.

MA Peterson reconfigured the bathroom and the closet leading to it to create more space by combining 2 baths into one. The windows were existing and to prevent exterior work, were creatively included into the overall design. This design not only allowed them to stay in place where they were originally, but afforded great light into the reconfigured bathroom space. An abundance of detail created a classic feel with the architectural tub niche, the separate toilet room and the vanity/makeup area. Masculine slate stone floors, classic ceramic wainscot and marble countertops surround a spacious his & her vanity, with sconces to illuminate each. The formal white cabinetry provided the perfect contrast to the plank-like rustic slate floor. All in all, a bright, hip vibe was achieved in a singular bathroom space that was originally not well thought out or functional. With rethinking, renovation and durable finishes, this owners’ suite bathroom satisfies both the masculine and the feminine side.
