In order for the client to be involved in this second story remodeling project, the first thing that was built was a chair glide to allow her to see the project as it progressed and envision how she would utilize the space. The curbless shower has a transfer bench seat and grab bars strategically located by the client. The toilet is set at a comfortable level and the sink is wall mounted with a tilting mirror above. The cabinets in the breakfast kitchen are 32 inches off the floor with a black counter top to make it more accessible. The window is opened and closed using a crank and the skylights are remote controlled. The key element to this project was the communication between the homeowner and the remodeler who is a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist.
