The client wanted several
functional and aesthetic changes to this 30 year old kitchen. All
appliances were upgraded, including the installation of a commercial
grade 5-burner range top on the kitchen island and an oven and
dishwasher. The range top was so large, that much counter space was
lost. To regain the space, the false drawer fronts were removed and
crown molding and corbels were installed all around the top of the
island base unit. This allowed the installation of a larger countertop,
which looks as if it belongs on the island. An old world stucco finish
was applied to the walls, and the walls and ceiling were faux painted to
give an aged appearance.
