The client had an
historic home that lacked closet space, updated bathrooms and adequate
space for all the family’s activities. Their lives are centered around
books, so bookshelves were incorporated throughout to serve as a
unifying detail. the centerpiece of the renovation is the reading alcove
which greets the family when they arrive at the second floor. The alcove
is open to the hallway, but defined by the barrel vaulted ceiling,
bookshelves and window seat. The third floor has become the master
suite, complete with a new marble bathroom and walk-in closet.
