This home was ADA
friendly except for having a detached garage. The vision was to have
easy dry access from the garage into the home, to have year-round
physical therapy at home, an area for her and her husband to pot plants,
and for the addition to blend with the original home. It was a great
group effort and the client truly appreciates the end results.
From the initial design there was a clear vision of where we wanted to
go. The roof tie-in was extremely difficult, but worked out well by
using a series of copper pan areas. The indoor/outdoor appearance
evolved through on-site job meetings and the “what if” question. The
indoor potting bench, waterproof floor system, ease of access from the
now attached garage, climate controlled pool room, enduring materials
and ecstatic finish made the project a true winner.
