Renovation began on this home in an historic district in September of
2008. What began as a second floor repair and replace effort evolved
into a whole-house renovation that included electrical, plumbing,
mechanical and structural upgrades, as well as the integration of
contemporary materials throughout the home. All floors were redesigned
to create simple, less disjointed spatial relationships. The resulting
symmetry within asymmetry feels effortless and balanced. With the
functional aim of reorganizing and reenergizing the home, the owners
preserved the original character of the house and expressed their
personal aesthetic aims as well.
