2011 Residential Universal Design
The
fire that damaged this home provided the opportunity to redesign the
kitchen and bathrooms incorporating Universal Design principles. The
kitchen design lowered the countertop in the sink and cook areas with
knee space and a pot filler faucet was added for efficiency. The
dishwasher was raised and the stoves lowered. The new master bath design
includes wheelchair accessibility, handheld shower with fold-down seat,
an ADA toilet with adjustable hand bar, and a dressing counter with knee
space.
