A small dining room that
had trouble seating eight was enlarged to accommodate twelve easily,
without increasing the home's footprint and blending seamlessly with the
existing structure so that it did not shout addition. Retaining as much
of the porch as possible meant working in confined areas, yet was
ultimately a very green and eco-friendly approach. An ICF foundation
system and spray foam insulation in the walls, ceiling and floor
furthered the green approach. While conserving major parts of the
existing structure, wonderful views of the yard were opened.
