The owners of this 1960’s
ranch style home wanted an expanded space where people in the kitchen,
family room or dining room could move easily, interact and keep and eye
on children playing outside. The new kitchen is incorporated into the
existing family room and the new addition captures that lost family room
area. The addition creates a family room and kitchen filled with natural
light from clerestory windows and seven foot windows and sliding doors.
Anyone working in the new kitchen can easily be a part of the party
instead of being relegated to the confines of the old.
