2002 Best Whole House Remodel
$200K-$500K
This 1920’s lakefront
home had been built to face a cul de sac that was never constructed.
This left the home with all the lake views obstructed by a massive brick
fireplace and no logical orientation to the stunning property it was
situated on. Convincing the owners to eliminate the stately 3-story
chimney and fireplace was no small task, but through the use of 3-D CAD
drawings they finally visualized the opportunities. The result of the
finished project is a view-filled flowing space that functions well for
both entertaining or family time. Many interior details such as the
plaster archways have been created to tie the old to the new with a much
higher level of continuity and quality than existed before the remodel.
