The existing garage was
severely out of place on this majestic property. Handpicked exposed roof
framing with 2 X 6 T&G sheathing carries the thick slate roof. Stucco
was used, but matches the brick on the existing mansion, giving
additional architectural character while still blending in. The
site-made cupola sports a copper bell top and handmade eagle weathervane
with a rich green patina distinguishing them from the other lead-coated
copper accents. Finally, the asphalt driveway in front of the garage was
replaced with antique cobblestone pavers, from the streets of
Philadelphia, helping to earn this structure its rightful place on this
magnificent old estate.
