After
an extended freeze, a thaw brought disaster. This waterfront home was
flooded and suffered extensive damage to floors, paneled walls, trim and
cabinetry. The insurance company covered repair of the flooring, trim,
paneling and paint. They declined to replace the cabinets; however, the
clients paid out of pocket for the new cabinetry and traded the paneling
option for drywall. Gleaming granite countertops, white subway tile,
rich Espresso stained engineered flooring, and the two-toned cabinetry
provide comfortable contrast. New windows bring in lots of light and
allow the extraordinary view to be maximized.
