The New Century Club was
a bridge club for about a dozen ladies that has been in existence for
over 50 years. When the ladies decided to let the club go, these clients
got the opportunity to purchase the home. Previous renovations had left
multiple door and window heights. Despite renovations, the original knob
and tube wiring permeated the structure as did galvanized feed lines and
weeping cast drain lines, leaky roofs and inlaid gutters as well as
antiquated mechanical ducts and units. Coleman Construction supplied and
installed transoms to bring in light and eliminated interior partition
walls. They duplicated the stairway newel post with 11’ custom columns
at the end of the living room. All the home’s major systems were
reworked and they added a partial new roof and renovated the porch. This
month, the ladies of The New Century Club will return to their old club
for a luncheon and tour. Skeeter has promised to report back on what
they have to say.
