These new empty nesters
wanted a modern master suite, new kitchen, updated laundry facilities, a
home office, and a maintenance free exterior on their 1938 Cape Cod
home. The interior framing required three engineered beams to carry
existing roof and ceiling loads. The exterior was transformed by using
vinyl cedar shake panels, which passers-by could not believe was a vinyl
product. The windows were replaced with double pane, low E glass and
aluminum clad exterior. This transformed the 1938 home into a 21st
century beauty with all the modern amenities and virtually no exterior
maintenance required.
