Working through the
Challenges to Create a Winner
On the way to creating this great addition, David Tyson had to deal with
some unforeseen challenges. On the first day of construction, they
uncovered a half-filled oil tank. After having it pumped and excavated,
they discovered a second oil tank and found that one of the tanks had
been leaking. Fortunately, the laws regarding this kind of situation had
been revised two months prior to the project. They were able to excavate
and fill the crater, and the footings and slab were re-engineered to
float.
As you can see, this is a very beautiful 700 square foot addition with a
wrap around deck that provides a tremendous view of the wooded back
yard. The space created from the kitchen to the new family room...and
out onto the wrap around porch, has transformed this brick ranch into an
inviting back yard oasis.
