The original kitchen
created bottlenecks during entertaining and isolated the cook. Two
peninsulas and a portion of solid wall were replaced with an L-shaped
island to keep the parties flowing. Bold features, such as glass cabinet
doors and back-splash, and a waterfall edge on the counter-top, are
paired with classic white shaker style cabinets for the perfect balance
of modern and traditional. To compliment the new open kitchen, a
stack-stone veneer feature wall was added with a linear gas insert, and
TV mounted above. All hardwood floors were stained a rustic graphite to
unify the entire first level.
