The scope of this project included updating the existing kitchen and opening it up to the dining room to create eat-in space. The project needed to remain in the existing footprint and also accommodate the clients’ Kosher lifestyle. The overall result packs a big punch. The requirements of a Kosher kitchen demand separate storage and preparation of meat, dairy and tableware…a lot to ask of a small space. By opening up to the adjacent dining room and incorporating an eating space within the kitchen, the space becomes multifunctional. The choice of materials and finishes, as well as detail oriented craftsmanship, result in a space that respects the age of the house and provides function for today’s family.
