This bath is part of a
larger master suite that includes a bedroom, two walk-in closets and an
entry vestibule. The goal was to make the bath easily accessible from
all points in the suite, but to also create privacy from the bedroom.
Entering the bath from the vestibule, one passes through a short hallway
with a linen closet and entry to the water closet. The main part of the
bath is flooded with light from two new windows. This light is
beautifully reflected throughout the room by the Thassos marble tile on
the floors and walls. Defining and accenting the tub and shower areas is
a half-wall tiled in a ming green marble mosaic. Standing at the double
vanity, the full width mirror expands and reflects the light of the
room. The vanity itself was custom built to very exacting
specifications, with furniture legs, rounded corners, and flush inset
drawers. The vanity top, made from Calcutta marble, carefully reflects
the curving lines of the vanity. in the water closet, the simple but
elegant flourish of ming green marble tile to the ceiling gives this
small room the legs to stand on its own.
