This is the complete
renovation of a structure built in 1926 that increased it from 1,622 to
over 9,000 total square feet under roof. The project was done in stages
beginning in 1992 and ending in 2001 to allow occupancy during the
remodel. Major portions of the interior work were performed during the
family’s summer vacation period. This is a diverse floor plan that
accommodates extensive family gatherings, as well as providing intimate
spaces for each family member. Many architectural salvage items were
incorporated into the home in keeping with the original design and age
of the structure. These included heart pine porch posts, fretwork and
decorative wrought iron. Many local homes of this era were located on
large lots that have been broken up for new housing. This project
preserves the integrity of the original single-family residence located
on multiple lots.
