Now, after raising a
family of five, the kids are grown and gone and it’s time to convert one
of the bedrooms and the kid’s study into an adult playroom complete with
home theater and poker area. The clients wanted the remodel to look like
it had been there from the start. The only problem is that the bedroom
and study had vaulted ceilings and the ridge lines did not line up once
the common wall between the rooms was removed. To make the lines work,
they converted the vaulted ceiling into a barrel ceiling. In addition to
giving this room a one-of-a-kind look, the barrel ceiling also improved
the acoustics of the new sound system. This space that had so many
wonderful memories from the past was converted into a space to create
many new memories far into the future.
