When our clients originally came to us to do this project, their initial idea was to take a phased-approach to their whole-house remodel. We looked at the possible design solutions that would come from a main level and lower level remodel, but soon discovered that with their family of six, their children’s bedrooms would need to be separated, and the main level would have minimal public space left over.

Our design efforts turned to a whole-house solution with a second level addition, which would contain the children’s bedrooms and a large, functional bathroom that we nicknamed, “Megabath”. By leaving the lower level as an unfinished playroom, their budget was better allocated to this solution, which enabled us to create a cohesive exterior design that facilitated bright, open and connected main level spaces.
