The owner wanted to obliterate
the 60’s ranch feel to the home and create a better connection to the
outdoors. They also wanted the home to be accessible for aging parents,
but not look it. All interior finishes were upgraded. New vaulted or
coffered ceilings were added to the library, office, living room, dining
room, the master bath and closets. Four additions were built onto this
home to the north, south, east, and west, which gave much relief to key
areas of the home. The home incorporated all the major universal design
features, including a one level home with low thresholds, no steps,
lever hardware, wide door ways, rocker light switches, benches and grab
bars in the showers and generous lighting.
