Part of the success of
this project was finding more square footage for a larger kitchen for
serious cooking and entertaining. Some came from a triangular addition
of just 50 sq. feet, and the rest came from the gutsy move of
eliminating a secondary powder room. Better connections to the dining
and living room were created to solve long-standing deficiencies. A
sweeping kitchen plays with the angular geometry of the small triangular
addition. A pantry packed with storage takes pressure off the kitchen. A
secondary work center on the other side of the angled island includes a
two-burner electric cooktop, single sink, under counter refrigerator and
drawer. Beautiful glass pendants allude to the owners treasured
collection of colored glass which was given a better display as part of
this remodel.
