2011 Best Bath Remodel over $60,000 National Award Winner
With
children leaving the home and more space available, the opportunity
opened up to create a spacious spa environment for these empty nesters.
At its foundation is a flowing, thoughtful floor plan that ensures “do
not disturb” privacy in the master bedroom, where neither light nor
sound from the bath intrude.
The new shower is the centerpiece, with three functions: rain shower,
hand shower, and wall mount options. A subtly graded floor and a bench
add comfort and safety. In keeping with the clients’ desire for energy
efficiency, tankless water heaters keep the temperature constant with
less use of resources. Natural materials and contemporary design reflect
the whole-house aesthetic and client values. A striking stone and tile
arrangement marrying beige tones in natural materials includes a
dividing wall with chiseled-edge stone layered between lagos azul
limestone tile. A blend of natural and well-placed lighting continues
the harmony.
