Getting around in this kitchen was no cakewalk. Poor circulation made everything from meal prep to cleanup a chore. A chunky island served as little more than a roadblock and getting anywhere-like the pantry or rear door-meant a detour through the laundry room. The solution came in reconfiguring the space into distinct work zones-cooking, cleaning, entertaining, even coffee-and opening up the kitchen to adjacent rooms. A new butler’s pantry now doubles as a mudroom behind discrete pocket doors. The sleeker island, complete with a contrasting bridge table, provides a perfect perch for breakfast and the morning news. Magnolia white cabinetry, stainless appliances, and creamy granite add both flair and function to the more sensible flow. The result: no-nonsense circulation and a contemporary yet classic appeal.
