After investigating
senior living establishments, the decision was made to 'age-in-place'. A
three bedroom home was purchased for the sole purpose of re-designing to
achieve their goal of comfort in their golden years. The clients arrived
with their budget and their requests for a new kitchen, large enough for
an island, a first floor laundry and a large bathroom. They were not
interested in ADA compliancy, just large, open, cheerful spaces.
Removing the third bedroom became the key to the success of the project
allowing all the requests to be fulfilled.
