To keep within the
client’s $10,000 budget, they took out the existing floor tile and
backsplash but kept the existing cabinets. The client wanted granite
counter tops which were beyond the budget. To compromise, granite was
installed on the small breakfast bar, and matching granite tiles were
used on the backsplash. The dark cherry wood in the rest of the house
was stain matched and used on wood accents in the kitchen. With these
creative solutions, the client got the charm of an English country
kitchen for a very small investment.
