The kitchen was small and
dark. The cabinets were in good shape, the the dated, dark stained oak
was too heavy for the small room and more storage space was needed. All
the cabinets were recolored with a cabinet spray coating system; new
pantry and telephone center cabinets were added, as well as new cabinet
hardware, new laminate countertops, and new linoleum flooring. The
existing cabinets were recoated an antique white color but some of the
dark oak accents in the moldings and toekicks remain to tie in with the
woodwork in the rest of the house. A new valance board above the window
and new hardware help bring the cabinets up to date.
The kitchen is now a bright and cheerful place to work, and the cook no
longer feels isolated. This client is extremely happy with the value
they received on a budget of about $15,000.
