2015 Kitchen Remodel over $150,000



The kitchen in this 5-acre estate home was dysfunctional for this robust household, that required more space. The design solution included removing all bulkheads and replace them with taller and double stacked cabinetry to maximize storage space.  Across the room was an unused wall that now contains the 36” tower fridge and freezer and a tall cabinet with the microwave, steam unit and warming drawer…all hidden out of sight. Quad double hung windows were placed on the back wall to maximize light. In the back hall, the windows were replaced with French doors leading onto the deck. A full bath was demolished so the tub space was used to create a new pantry. The use of white cabinetry and white Carrera marble top and backsplash lightened the kitchen and provide contrast to the distressed ebony island and hutch. “A kitchen to die for” is how the clients describe the new kitchen.
