When this home was built
in 1934 the intention was to finish the second floor, however 70 years
later no progress had been made. The owner decided to create a master
suite, so a library, entertainment room, sitting room bedroom, bathroom
and a sun porch were all created inside this 700 square feet of space.
Four different wood species were used to define the floors of these
different spaces…cherry, maple, birch and bamboo. The sun-porch features
a tile floor that creates the feeling of a patio. The flow of this space
is what matters most. The floor plan cleverly guides us from one space
to the next and never pinches you off or leads to a dead end. Everything
flows.
